Intellectual Property

Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind. Intellectual property regulations seek to protect the value of these creations. There are two main parts to intellectual property regulations:

  • patents address inventions, trademarks, industrial designs
  • geographic indications of source.

Copyright addresses literary and artistic works such as novels, poems and plays, films, musical works, artistic works such as drawings, paintings, photographs, and sculptures.
